Name: Nick “Dutchy” van der Meer
Role: Future Team Leader
Customer Service Experience: 14 years in the hospitality industry, with 8 of them being as a chef in the Royal Australian Navy.
Riding Experience: About 10 years riding mountain bikes, only about 4 riding road. I have done a few XC short course races, as well as few 7/8hr events. I tried my hand at DH racing but a big off and a shoulder reconstruction put a stop to that. I have recently taken up BMX racing to get my adrenaline fix, and the local scene is fantastic.
What do you love about bikes?: Cycling is fortunate to have a great community around it in all disciplines of the sport, and love meeting the people who are just as passionate as I am. I’m also a bit of a gear nerd and cycling has some amazing technology for me to get my teeth into.
Expertise: DH bikes, but I’m passionate about cycling in all forms.
Current Bikes: Intense M3, Norco Six One, Giant TCR Advanced SL2, DK Sprinter Cruiser.
Favourite Ride: MTB - Original Sin into Lower A-line, Whistler Bike Park. Road - Cairns to Port Douglas via Kuranda Range, North QLD
