Meet the team

Kirstin Vogel

Name: Kirstin Vogel
Role: Sales Consultant
Customer Service Experience: I've been in retail and hospitality since I was 15. I gave up that life when I graduated University and moved to NYC. While there I worked in the corporate world; first in the fashion industry for a year followed by Red Bull for the last 3. I'm excited to jump into the bike sales world and hopefully learn some mechanic skills along the way.
Riding Experience: I ride with adult training wheels...
What do you love about bikes?: The fact that you never have to worry about finding or paying for parking. Can't beat the exercise and playing a bit of "Frogger" on the roads.
Expertise?: Commuter, Hybrids, Single speed, BMX & kids bikes. Come at me with all your accessory needs too.
Current Bikes: Norco Yorkville. Currently drooling over the Merida Cyclo Cross 500 and the Norco Valence.
Favourite Ride: There is nothing like riding over the Williamsburg Bridge from Brooklyn to Manhattan and back during sunset. The hustle and bustle of the evening commuters and the setting sun over the skyline is when New York City really comes alive. My other top ride would be the one from my childhood home on Hewlett's Creek to Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina. They didn't film Dawson's Creek there for nothing! Excited to explore a new and exciting path in my new city of Sydney, Australia.

Daren Lake

Name: Daren Lake aka 'DLake'
Role: Mechanic
Riding Experience: Ironman Triathlons, Duathlons (Run-Bike-Run), Cyclocross, and Fixie Alley Cats all around the world.
What do you love about bikes?: The fact that they apply my "80.20 Experience" life philosophy and would be the best vehicle to have in the zombie apocalypse. In the words of wikipedia "A bicycle's performance, in both biological and mechanical terms, is extraordinarily efficient. In terms of the amount of energy a person must expend to travel a given distance, cycling is calculated to be the most efficient self-powered means of transportation. In terms of the ratio of cargo weight a bicycle can carry to total weight, it is also a most efficient means of cargo transportation."
Expertise: Classic Steel, Aluminium and Titanium Road Bike builds/restoration, Time Trial, Commuters, Fixie/Single Speeds, and Cyclocross.
Current Bikes: 2001 Litespeed Classic (Titanium), Surly Crosscheck (4130 Steel), The Velocraft TT (Aluminium), Miata Fixie (Tange 2 - Steel).
Favourite Ride: Short - Eastern Beaches/Watson Bay Loop | Longish - North Hearts aka Pacific Highway to Mona Vale back down Pittwater over Spit Bridge and Mosman rollers back through the city.

Riding Experience: I've done stints in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra as well as short international cyclo tours in Samoa and Vietnam.

Expertise: Specifications and fine details.
Current Bikes: Cannondale Caad12, Trek 2300 SLR.
Favourite Ride: Through the City of Sydney during twilight hours when there's hardly a car or pedestrian in sight.

Riding Experience: Recent convert to cycling, club battler who tries to match it with the A/B graders.

Expertise: Carbon road bikes.
Current Bikes: Neil Pryde Bura SL.
