About Me

I’m 26 and born and raised in Brisbane. I have a degree in environmental science and a passion for conservation!

I like to make everyday changes to support an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

Cycling to work is an amazing way to incorporate reducing carbon emissions and an active lifestyle!

I love cycling for leisure but for the past few years I’ve been hesitant to make the switch to commuting because I’ve been concerned about the dangers of interacting with traffic.

Brisbane has changed dramatically over the last few years though and is amazingly bike-friendly these days!! I can’t wait to get out and see more of this beautiful city from peninsula the handlebars!

Update Six

Wednesday, 9 June 2021

This week had some rainy afternoons in Brisbane, but I got some absolutely incredible views of my way home because of it!

Update Five

I sold my car this week! Fully green commuting for me now! I also put my bike in for its first service and once again it feels like new! A few alterations to add a basket to the back and attach the bike lock and it’s sailing! Now that it’s getting colder in Brisbane I am grateful for a nice brisk cycle in the morning to warm me up, it will definitely be getting colder before it gets warmer though!

Update Three

I’m really getting into the groove of riding my bike to work, my morning routine is smooth and a GREAT time for me to break up my day and just enjoy some fresh air. Riding is an incredibly enjoyable experience. I can’t wait for more!

Update Two

Monday, 19 April 2021

This week was an exciting one as I met my beautiful new nephew for the first time. He was born on Tuesday night and he’s enchanting! But one of the cutest things about him, is that he’s currently the same size as my cycling helmet! I’m so in love, and I can’t wait till he grows up a little bit so I can take him on weekend bike rides! Also, I received my Green Team shirt and it is FANCY! Really nice material and I’m excited to start wearing that on my rides to work to rep this team. It started to get a bit cold in Brisbane this week, winter is definitely on the way! I think though I’m happy to rep my green team shirt, I might need a few layers to get through those early morning bike rides. There really is very few views as stunning as the Kangaroo point cliffs and story bridge bright and early in the morning. I’m definitely noticing an increase in my confidence on the bike too! Fewer bruises and fewer instances of accidentally tipping over every day! Let’s keep this going!
