Name: Byron Thomas
Role: Team Leader
Experience: My 12 years of work experience has been split evenly between Advanced Driving Instructing and selling and installing of Industrial Coating Systems. In 2018 we moved over from South Africa and I saw this as a great opportunity to use my diverse experience and channel it towards my passion which is cycling, bicycles and people. Started riding BMX as a kid which progressed into mountain biking and then road bikes and triathlon in recent years. I like to mix it up and enter events across all disciplines.
Expertise: Cross Country MTB, Road bikes and single speeds.
What do you love about bikes?: The distance you cover and places you see while on a bicycle will exceed your greatest expectations. I also love the unusual destinations you visit when entering different events.
Current Bikes: Giant Propel , BH Lynx Race, Charge Plug.
Favourite Ride: Baviaans Kloof, Willowmore to J-bay (MTB) and Palm Beach (Road).
Name: Victor Pratt
Role: Sales Consultant
Customer Service Experience: 20 years in Hospitality, Personal Trainer and Spin Instructor at Fitness First.
Riding Service Experience: Aside from BMX in the 80's, I fell in love with Mountain Bikes and made the transition to Road when I started commuting daily and wanted to go faster. I crossed the French Alps off the bucket list in 2012.
Expertise: Road bikes and commuters.
What do you love about bikes?: The ability to get a great workout, be competitive and have fun at the same time.
Current Bikes: Merida Reacto 7000e.
Favourite Ride: Waterfall and National Park. Akuna Bay.
Name: Chris Crawford
Role: Sales Consultant
Experience: Raced XC and Enduro. I split my love of cycling between all disciplines, as long as I'm on two wheels, I'm happy.
Expertise:Years of riding various bikes in various price ranges.
What do you love about bikes?: What's not to love? They are beautiful to look at, provide a means to get fit and healthy as well as a efficient means of transport.
Current Bikes: A sweet Merida Ride 400 disc for commuting, S-works Venge for bunch rides, Yeti SB5c for the fun, dirty stuff and a Giant XTC hardtail for casual rides.
Favourite Ride: Kentlyn MTB Park.
Name: Brad Howison
Role: Head Mechanic
Experience: Over 12 years as a bike mechanic in a variety of shops. I also used to race downhill back in the day.
Expertise: Mountain Bikes and Suspension servicing is what I enjoy the most but if it's got 2 wheels I'll get stuck in.
What do you love about bikes?: Everything! The freedom and the rush that comes with them.
Current Bikes: Norco Ryde, Custom build Norco Aurum, S&M LTF and Suzuki GSXR 1000r.
Favourite Ride: Riding push laps down at the Gong and hitting jump lines.
Name: Daniel Strout
Experience: United Bicycle Institute Certified Mechanic since 2017, 10+ years of riding road, fixed gear and single-speed.
Expertise: Road and single-speed/fixed gear.
What do you love about bikes?: The freedom that riding provides and the ongoing innovation that makes each new bike have interesting and new designs and technologies.
Current Bikes: 2013 BMC SL01, 2017 Focus Mares AX, Cinelli Gazetta Track, v1 26" Lightfoot Polo Bike.
Favourite Ride: Canberra to Nowra bike tour via state forests and tiny country pubs.
Name: James Fonseca
Experience: Mechanic newbie undertaking an apprenticeship and Cert III in bicycle mechanics. Previously worked in Real Estate and Graphic Design... I can tell you bikes are way more fun!
Expertise: Road bikes.
What do you love about bikes?: Weaving through peak hour traffic, the exhilaration of long rides through amazing scenery, the incredible Formula 1 style bike tech and the friendly competitiveness you find riding in a group.
Current Bikes: Wilier GTR SL, ‘95 Giant Kronos affectionately known as Steely Dan.
