Shop Allen

When your ride means weekend escapes, family hauls or swapping from trail to travel, Allen delivers strength, simplicity and smart engineering in every rack. These racks don’t just look tough, they’re built for regular riders who want gear that works without fuss or finicky bits.

Allen combines decades of proven design with honest materials so your bike or two can go where you want, safe and secure every time.

The Allen Story

Started by Dick Allen in 1967 in his garage in Massachusetts, Allen Sports began because he needed a better bike carrier for himself. As a former aerospace engineer he applied care, precision and real-world testing – first with home-made prototypes, then with trunk and hitch racks built for reliability. Over fifty years later the Allen brand still holds dozens of patents in bike rack design globally. Allen racks are now used around the world, loved for being easy to use, durable and built for the kinds of trips everyday cyclists make.

Because of that history, using an Allen rack means you benefit from designs refined over time – tie-downs that hold tight, racks that fold down simply, arms that protect your bike frame – features born from real riders and rugged conditions. That heritage shows up every time you load up your bike and head out.

Why Ride Allen?

  • Patented tie-down systems ensure each bicycle is held securely, reducing frame clatter and rubbing even on long drives. These tie-downs adapt to different frame styles so everyone’s bike fits with care.
  • Smart folding and tilt features make loading, accessing your vehicle’s boot or storing the rack simple. Arms fold away, racks tilt back.
  • Built rugged with quality materials — powder-coated steel frames, strong welds, clear arch feet or wide profile footpads protect vehicles, bikes and handle Australia’s roads without corrosion easy wear.
  • Global brand, local load testing — over fifty years in rack design, carrying-many-bike and single-bike models tested in real-world kits to ensure they perform. You’re buying more than name, you’re getting fitting, carrying and protection refined by use.

Popular Allen Ranges Explained

Allen Hitch

The Allen Hitch rack line is made for those with receiver hitch mounts. These racks suit cars with 2-inch hitches and carry multiple bicycles using individual carry arms with tie-down cradles. Arms fold away and racks often tilt for boot or hatch access without removing bikes. Durable enough for weekly use, practical for long trips or long-term racks.

Allen Trunk

Allen Trunk racks clamp to the boot or rear hatch of your vehicle using straps and feet pads. Made for sedans, hatchbacks, vans and small four-wheel drives, these racks are ideal if you don’t have hitch hardware. Designs like the MT series fold compactly for easy storage, and padded contact points protect both bike and vehicle.

Allen Deluxe

The Allen Deluxe range sits at the higher end of Allen’s lineup for hitch-mounted bike carriers. Deluxe models feature no-wobble bolts, tilt-away or quick-fold arms, and reinforced steel frames. These come into play when you’re carrying heavier bikes or often need to load and unload in varied conditions.
