The legendary Lapierre Xelius has been the preferred race machine of FDJ riders for many years now. However, following the introduction of the Aircode and the Pulsium in 2014, it was time to rethink the old favourite. Lapierre's engineers set out to create a bike that both improved the effciency and stiffness of the old Xelius, and also reduced the weight.
They re-examined the bike entirely and came up with a completely new design. The result: complete performance advancement. Rigorous testing on machines, and on tarmac by FDJ riders, and the new Xelius SL has been deemed race ready by
the very best in French cycling.
Lapierre Xelius SL 900 is a top of the carbon fibre road bike with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 electronic shifting. Dura Ace Di2 is the same technology favoured by riders in the UCI Pro Tour. Dura Ace Di2 provides incremental changes as you shift through gears, allowing you to maintain a more consistent cadence and pedalling efficiency throughout your ride. Electronic shifting is precise and effortless, meaning perfect gear changes every time, as well as little need for on-going tuning.
