Meet The Team

Brittany Petersen (Brit)

Name: Brittany Petersen (Brit)
Role: Future Team Leader
Customer Service Experience: I have a degree in Psychology and Social work as well as a Post Grad Certificate in Education. I've been working with 99 Bikes since September 2017 as a Sales Consultant and love dealing with people! I was a professional kayaker until 2015 where I changed over to riding. I have raced in Europe and South Africa and race in the National Road Series here in Australia where I won a stage in one of the 2018 NRS Tours. I have podiumed at the South Aus State Road Champs and Time Trial Champs and also podiumed in the past at South African National Time Trial Champs.
Expertise: All round knowledge on different bike disciplines. I love dealing with people and getting people their dream bikes!
What do you love about bikes?: From kids balance bikes to high end roadies and e-Bikes, the diversity in cycling and people you meet is endless! Bikes can take you all over the world and teach you so much about yourself and others. No matter your capabilities, there's a bike and ride for you!
Current Bikes: Merida Scultura 8000E road bike. Swift Time Trial Bike
Favourite Ride: In Spain, the Mare de du Del Mont and locally, in Adelaide, up the Old Freeway and through the Northern or Southern Hills.

John Martinez

Name: John Martinez
Role: Sales Consultant
Customer Service Experience: Worked as a Lifeguard for 6 years specialising in customer service where I was granted the position of duty manager to eventually finding my passion at 99 Bikes.
Riding Experience: I've been riding bikes as long as i can remeber, but got into road cycling since i was 13 through triathlon where my love for bikes just grew. I still compete in triathlons now and then as well as road races, with an unhealthy obsession for strava. Also in my spare time I do ride my mountain bike every now and then.
Expertise: Road and triathlon.
What do you love about bikes?: I love where it can take you, just waking up in the morning and thinking 'where do I want to ride today?' The sense of adventure from exploring new roads and trails by bike is one of the best feelings and I hope that I continue doing this for a long time.
Current Bikes: Specialized S-Works Venge (road), Fuji Norcom Straight 1.1 (time trial), Merida Big 9 (mountain bike).
Favourite Ride: Has got to be Norton Summit easily, but loved riding in Halls Gap through the Grampians.

Chloe Grey

Name: Chloe Grey
Role: Sales Consultant
Experience: I've been a mountain bike guide for the past 4 years, along with working in and around bikes at outdoor centres.
Expertise: All thing mountain biking.
What do you love about bikes?: Being able to meet so many different people out on the trails who all share something in common.
Current Bikes: Norco Sight A2.
Favourite Ride: Bright, Mt Buller, Falls, Mt Beauty. Basically anything up in Alpine Australia!

What do you love about bikes?: I love going way too fast.

Cooper Sayers

Name: Cooper Sayers
Role: Mechanic & Sales Consultant
Customer Service Experience: Some of the experience that I have had has included working in various bike shops as both a salesperson and road bike mechanic. I have also done a lot with servicing and bike maintenance. I have also worked at many expos and event stalls promoting sponsors and the institute which has benefited me with my communication skills and knowledge.
Riding Experience: I've been cycling for 3 years now after I was picked up by SASI Talent Search testing where 5000 kids were tested. From there I have represented South Australia and now ride for the South Australian Sports Institute Track and Road Endurance Squad. In my time I have picked up 9 time national medalist and 3 time Oceania Medalist. Hopefully 2017 brings the ultimate honour in representing Australia in the Jnr Track World Championships.
Expertise: Road, Track and Anatomy.
What do you love about bikes?: I love everything about bikes from the road to the track and even off road. Cycling is such a fantastic sport that anybody and everybody can enjoy. It can bring such happiness and joy to everyone who gets involved. It doesn't matter if you are serious or you just enjoy riding to the coffee shop its a great way to keep fit and see the world from a different perspective.
Current Bikes: 2017 Cervelo S5, Cervelo R5 and Cervelo P3
Favourite Ride: Anything in the hills, the scenery is something you could never experience in the car. You also get the thrill of going down hill after!

Jack Abbott

Name: Jack Abbott
Role: Workshop Manager
Experience: I have been working on bikes for the past 10 years in bike stores around Adelaide. I have worked at 99 Bikes since late 2017. I am currently the workshop manager at Marion.
Expertise: I have experience in working with all types of bikes but find the most joy in dealing with dual suspension Mountain Bikes, where my passion for riding lies.
What do you love about bikes?: Enduro, Downhill and Dirt Jumping are my disciplines of choice. I love the adrenaline rush of hitting new trails, and it's fun.
Current Bikes: Norco Range A1, Specialized Demo, Specialized P Slope, Specialized P3.
Favourite Ride: #Whistler.

Lyndal Bailey

Name: Lyndal Bailey
Role: Mechanic
Experience: I have worked for several years as a mechanic both in Australia and NZ, I have worked across a variety of different stores each with their own specialty.
Expertise: All things off road, in particular bike packing, mountain biking and touring. I also have an interest in helping extra small riders find their perfect bike!
What do you love about bikes?: The freedom they give you, I love having the ability to just ride wherever I want, carry everything I need and explore new places.
Current Bikes: Muru Witjira (custom build), Salsa Fargo 3, Giant Liv Intrigue SX.
Favourite Ride: Great Divide Trail (USA).
