The Merida eSpresso City 300SE EQ 504Wh Electric Hybrid Bike has a lot to offer, Merida have packed everything they can into this bike however They've been carefully to use only the best choice of components meaning you're getting an affordable, reliable electric bike that still a great lightweight ride feel. The EQ in the name means the bike is equipped and you'll find a substantial list of options in this bike. To begin the Merida eSpresso City comes with all the features you have come to expect of a commuter Hybrid Electric Bike with Sunnywheel SW-FA311-60 fenders which cover all the important areas of your tyres preventing water, dirt, and grime from getting picked up and splashing onto you keeping you dry and clean for your destination. These are great for those sunny days that have a surprise rain show part way through leaving puddles scattered on your ride back home. Next, you'll find a cleverly located Abus 5650 LH-3 frame lock just below your seat stays behind you battery, this means you can take a break along your ride, perhaps for a coffee, without the need to find a dedicated bike rack to lock your bike to. With the Abus frame lock you can lock your rear wheel preventing someone from jumping on your electric bike and riding away meaning you can focus on finding a cafe instead of finding a bike rack!
We are very pleased with how well integrated Merida have designed the bike, one of the standout benefits of an Electric Bike is of course the battery and why not make your life simpler by integrated your front and rear lights directly into the frame? With the Merida eSpresso City 300SE EQ Electric Hybrid Bike you won't need to remember to charge your lights separately they turn on with the push of a button and charge when you charge you electric bike - better yet they look and perform really well. At the front Merida have chosen a Herrmans H-Black MR4 E which has a reflector and output of 100/120 lumens, and at the rear the Herrmans H-Cargo light which has been integrated into the Merida MIK carrier achieving a very clean and tidy look. The Merida MIK carrier means you have plenty of capacity on the bike whether you choose pannier bags or a rack mounted basket you'll have the confidence everything is mounted securely. While we're looking at safety Merida have chosen the Continental Contact Plus tyres which feature great puncture resistance and a high visibility reflective line meaning you'll be seen in low light conditions from every angle!
Jumping into the bike itself, Merida have specced the eSpresso with trusted Shimano components, the Shimano STePS E5000 drive unit offers 4 assist modes and with the Shimano STePS E8010 504 Watt-hour battery up to 100-150km of range to a single charge. A great feature of the Shimano StePS E8010 battery is that it can charge to 80% capacity in just 2.5 hours and 5 hours for a complete charge. Everything is as simple as possible to use, you can select different assistance modes with the display and the motor will assist you automatically as soon as you begin pedalling - with pedal assist it has never been easier to start riding.
