The Merida Speeder 900 is a lightweight and fast Flat Bar Road Bike, sharing its DNA with Merida’s drop bar road bikes range with the major difference being the more comfortable upright riding position. The Merida Speeder 900 Flat Bar Road bike is a serious performance bike with the goal of remaining practical and comfortable. Merida has chosen to spec out this Speeder with Shimano Ultegra components which have a crisp shift without the hefty price tag of Shimano Dura-Ace. The Speeder gives you a comfortable ride that feels fast which is perfect for commuting, recreation or racing around with mates!
Hydraulic Disc Brakes
This bike features Shimano MT500 disc brakes, which are so powerful they’re used on XC trail bikes! Disc Brakes provide you with better braking performance in all conditions, unlike rim brakes which can be heavily impacted by dust and water, disc brakes maintain control in all conditions. These brakes give you confidence that you'll stop when you need to and with a hydraulic system you will have greater control and have better feedback through your levers, hydraulic systems aren't prone to cable stretch and self adjust as your brake pads wear down - meaning you can focus on the riding!
Comfortable Geometry
This bike is sporty yet comfortable, it has a more upright seating position thanks to additional height at the front of the bike in the headset. This bike is accessible and ready to ride without a bunch of riding experience!
Carbon Fork
The fork features a tapered steerer, you'll have precise and confident steering. With carbon's special properties you'll gain great lateral stiffness for control and vertical tolerances which enable a more absorbent more comfortable ride. Best of both worlds!

The Merida Speeder 900 is at the top of the range, not only does it make the step to Shimano Ultegra components but it is also the only Speeder to feature Shimano’s powerful MT500 Hydraulic disc brakes. This helps make the bike incredibly reliable in all conditions!

This bike is designed for riders who are after a fast and lightweight performance bike but want a more comfortable riding position, perhaps something more practical than a road bike. The Merida Speeder is perfect as a quick commuter bike or for getting out for a recreational ride!
Tyre Clearance 37mm
This bike comes with an array of modern features including greater clearances in the frame and fork to allow for wider tyres up to 37mm. This extra width provides improved braking power and maximises traction on the road, with a 37mm tyre you can also run slightly lower pressures maintaining fast rolling speeds with better all-day comfort as the tyre deflects better to small imperfections in the road. When using fenders you'll be restricted to 32mm of tyre width!
Internal Cable Routing
With Internal cable routing, you have the benefit of a modern clean look and the added benefit of preventing rust and fraying of your shift and brake cable, being internal also means your cables are protected while in storage or being transported on the car!
X-Taper Headtube
The X-Tapered headtube on this bike provides room for a tapered for to be fitted. Tapered forks provide superb stiffness and precise confidence-inspiring shifting, with this setup you'll be able to navigate streets and corners with ease!
