Merida Big Nine XT Edition Mountain Bike Matt Black/Silver (2019)
Up to 12 months interest free
The Merida Big Nine XT Edition is a hardtail mountain bike that packs a punch with high performance specs to give you the ultimate ride. The Big Nine XT Edition is equipped with the 2019 RaceLite 6061 Aluminium frame which is a lighter and more advanced frame than previous years. The frame is lighter, yet stiffer because of additional heat treatment and double-butted wall thickness. This means that you get a quality frame at an affordable price. The frame is double pass welded, which is a second pass over weld that gives the frame a clean carbon-like appearance. The cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. This leaves the bike looking neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.
The Big Nine XT Edition has 29” wheels and 100mm travel suspension fork with a lockout to smooth the bumps on the trail and the lockout is ideal for riding more efficiently on smooth surfaces as well as climbing out of the saddle. Equipped with Shimano disc brakes for improved control and reliability regardless of the conditions. The Merida Big Nine XT Edition is a high-performance aluminium frame mountain bike which is ideal for cross-country races and racing fast. With a lightweight and durable frame, lockout on the suspension fork and quality range of Shimano parts, this bike is fast, efficient and will enable you to get the most out of yourself in a competitive environment.
Racelite 61 aluminium 2019: We use a minimum of 6061 aluminium. The pay back is that it’s possible to make lighter and more advanced frames. We use an additional heat treatment and double-butted wall thicknesses to produce light and stiff frames.
Tfs - Techno Forming System 2019: Technoforming is a mechanical forming process, shaping the tubes by using negative moulds, at times combined with a metal internal core.
F-mount 2019: ‘f-mount’ equipped bikes have integrated fittings for mud guards (some bikes require model specific mud guards), making fitting fast and simple.
K-mount drop-out 2019: Integrated mount on the chainstay to fit a merida kick stand.
C-mount 2019: ‘c-mount’ equipped bikes have the fixing points for a rear rack already integrated (some bikes require model specific rear rack), making fitting fast, simple and reliable.
X-taper headtube 2019: Using a tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom creates superb stiffness and precise, confidence inspiring steering.
Internal cable 2019: Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.
Down tube exit 2019: Ensures that internally routed cables and wires can move freely without causing any trouble whilst remaining easily accessible for servicing.
Lock-out 2019: The suspension fork and/or rear shock can be locked, either directly or via a ‘remote control’ lever on the handlebar.
C-s post mount disc 2019: Post mount disc brake calipers fit directly onto the seat stay for a strong and light connection whilst a chainstay post mount positions the caliper on the chainstay within the rear triangle for extra protection and better distribution of braking forces. Another benefit is that internal cable routing is also easier and neater via the chainstay.

In September 1972, Ike Tseng (1932–2012) a brilliant engineer and visionary founded MERIDA. While visiting the USA, Ike saw a sign in a bike shop that stated refusal to repair any Taiwanese bikes, due to the unfavourable quality. As a result of this he set out to fulfil his dream of high quality bikes made in Taiwan and formed the MERIDA Industry Company Ltd.
The MERIDA name has three syllables Me-Ri-Da and it is the company’s intention to manufacture beautiful, high quality bikes that enables everyone to reach their destination enjoyably. MERIDA created a world-leading bike factory but Ike still wasn’t satisfied, so in 1988 the MERIDA brand was launched. Ike’s vision is still very much a part of MERIDA, manufacturing all kinds of bikes from children’s bikes to world-class professional road and mountain bikes for the Bahrain- MERIDA team riders. Everybody has a different journey, and everyone can benefit from a MERIDA.
