Features

The Merida One-Forty 800 is an aggressive dual suspension mountain bike designed for riders who want to test themselves on technical trails and downhills. The Merida One-Forty 800’s frame is made from Merida’s Superlite 16 Aluminium (6016), which means that the walls can be super thin and deliver amazing strength, ideal for demanding off-road riding and racing. A tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom is used to create superb stiffness and precise, reliable steering. The cables are routed internally so that they are protected from the elements, and the frame is given a second pass over weld to give it a sharp, carbon-like appearance.

The Merida One-Forty 800 is designed with a modern trail bike geometry, with short chainstays, a long reach and low centre of gravity. It is equipped with high-quality 12-speed Sram Eagle drivetrain. This works efficiently with Sram Code hydraulic disc brakes and the Rock Shox fork, which has a lock-out feature and 150mm of travel to handle all the bumps on the roughest trails. The lower shock mount moves with the system to deliver sensitive response characteristics. Merida's engineers have precisely influenced the transmission ratio and progression, meaning a ‘Float Link’ rear suspension system appears to offer more travel than the model name suggests.

The Merida One-Forty 800 is suited to riders who are looking to take on bigger and tougher challenges. It has great pedaling efficiency, brilliant suspension and reliable handling. Which is exactly what you want out of a dual suspension mountain bike.

Features

Superlite 16 Alloy 2019: Our latest grade of aluminium (6016) enables super thin wall thicknesses whilst delivering amazing strength, ideal for demanding off-road riding and racing.

HFS - Hydro Forming System 2019: Tubes are inserted into negative moulds and a hot emulsion of water and oil is forced through at pressure, enabling them to be formed into complex shapes.

Float Link Rear Suspension 2019: The lower shock mount moves with the system to deliver sensitive response characteristics. Our engineers can precisely influence the transmission ratio and progression meaning a ‘Float Link’ rear suspension system appears to offer more travel than the model name suggests.

X-Taper Headtube 2019: Using a tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom creates superb stiffness and precise, confidence inspiring steering.

Internal Cable 2019: Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.

Smooth Welding 2019: Sometimes called ‘double pass welding’, a second pass over the weld gives a clean organic look to the frame. At first glance you will be convinced it is carbon.

Smart Entry 2019: Cables, housings and brake hoses are clamped under tension to prevent rattling when the trail gets rough. All inlets are completely interchangeable to deal with Di2, hydraulic hoses, brake cable and gear cable housings etc.

Di2 Ready 2019: Bikes/frames with the symbol ‘Di2 Ready’ are prepared for the installation of Di2 technology with battery mounting in the seat post or within the fork steerer.

12-148 Thru-Axle ‘Boost’ 2019: New Boost standard – wider axle widths; 110 mm front and 148 mm rear, allowing a shallower spoke angle for stiffer wheels, especially beneficial in 29ers.

C-S Post Mount Disc 2019: Post mount disc brake calipers fit directly onto the seat stay for a strong and light connection whilst a chainstay post mount positions the caliper on the chainstay within the rear triangle for extra protection and better distribution of braking forces. Another benefit is that internal cable routing is also easier and neater via the chainstay.

15-110 Thru-Axle ‘Boost’ 2019: New Boost standard – wider axle widths; 110 mm front and 148 mm rear, allowing a shallower spoke angle for stiffer wheels, especially beneficial in 29ers.

About Merida

In September 1972, Ike Tseng (1932–2012) a brilliant engineer and visionary founded MERIDA. While visiting the USA, Ike saw a sign in a bike shop that stated refusal to repair any Taiwanese bikes, due to the unfavourable quality. As a result of this he set out to fulfil his dream of high quality bikes made in Taiwan and formed the MERIDA Industry Company Ltd.

The MERIDA name has three syllables Me-Ri-Da and it is the company’s intention to manufacture beautiful, high quality bikes that enables everyone to reach their destination enjoyably. MERIDA created a world-leading bike factory but Ike still wasn’t satisfied, so in 1988 the MERIDA brand was launched. Ike’s vision is still very much a part of MERIDA, manufacturing all kinds of bikes from children’s bikes to world-class professional road and mountain bikes for the Bahrain- MERIDA team riders. Everybody has a different journey, and everyone can benefit from a MERIDA.
