"For this fourth version of the Reacto, Merida has looked to tip the balance away from pure aerodynamics to create a bike that has all of the DNA of a pure-bred aero machine, but is an 'all-rounder with class-leading aerodynamic performance'. The best of both worlds, then?"
-Senior Editor Warren Rossiter
The Merida Reacto 6000 Aero Road Bike is loaded with the brand new Reacto frame for outstanding aerodynamic performance that doesn’t sacrifice comfort. The Reacto is a high-performance aero road bike with stable ride characteristics which allows you to ride in relative comfort for such a performance focused bike. The CF3 Carbon frame lays the platform for this efficient road machine, offering similar stiffness and stability as the top of the line CF5 frame, just ever so slightly heavier.
It also comes with a brand new fork design which is intelligently integrated into the frame, while the new handlebar design and removing all the cables (by completely integrating the cables into the cockpit and frame) not only looks super smooth but each integrated cable saves up to 2 watts. The Reacto 6000 is kitted out with a 2x11 speed Shimano Ultegra Groupset with an 11-30t cassette for swift road riding.
Also new in 2021 is the front and rear integrated disc coolers to prevent overheating so that you can get the most out of the Shimano Ultegra Hydraulic Disc Brakes. It may come standard with a Fulcrum Racing 800DB Wheelset and Continental Grand Sport Race 700x25c tyres, however one of the big changes is that the new Reacto now has tyre clearance for 30mm tyres which really adds to the comfort, smoothness and stability without a significant impact on performance.
The main difference between this model and the next model up is that the Reacto 7000-E is equipped with electronic shifting (Ultegra Di2). Both groupsets offer outstanding performance, it just depends on your personal preferences and budget.
The Merida Reacto 6000 is a composed aero road bike that is incredibly versatile for such a performance focused bike. On the all new Reacto you can ride at your efficient best for hours on end thanks to the stable ride with excellent vibration damping qualities.
One of the key elements of the new REACTO that further improves the already impressive aerodynamic performance is the complete cable integration, hiding all cables from view and wind exposure and generating a 2 Watts saving.
The new fork and frame allow tyres of up to 30 mm to be fitted, which besides the well- proven S-Flex seat post, further improve the comfort as well as the road grip of the new REACTO so that you can ride in comfort on rough surfaces.
The 2nd gen disc coolers are further integrated into the frame and fork to minimise drag and reduce the risk of the disc brakes overheating on long descents. The forged aluminium part under the front and rear disc brake caliper draws heat away through CNC-milled cooling fins for 35% less heat build-up and faster temperature reduction.

In September 1972, Ike Tseng (1932–2012) a brilliant engineer and visionary founded MERIDA. While visiting the USA, Ike saw a sign in a bike shop that stated refusal to repair any Taiwanese bikes, due to the unfavourable quality. As a result of this he set out to fulfil his dream of high quality bikes made in Taiwan and formed the MERIDA Industry Company Ltd.
The MERIDA name has three syllables Me-Ri-Da and it is the company’s intention to manufacture beautiful, high quality bikes that enables everyone to reach their destination enjoyably. MERIDA created a world-leading bike factory but Ike still wasn’t satisfied, so in 1988 the MERIDA brand was launched. Ike’s vision is still very much a part of MERIDA, manufacturing all kinds of bikes from children’s bikes to world-class professional road and mountain bikes for the Bahrain- MERIDA team riders. Everybody has a different journey, and everyone can benefit from a MERIDA.
