The Merida Scultura 7000-E Road Bike is a high-end road bike that fuses electronic shifting with a carbon frame and a design built to go all day. The dynamic ride of the 7000-E starts with Merida's CF2 Carbon Frame which gives you smooth, vibration damping ride that can act as the training or race day bike depending on your needs. If you're rolling on a flat out carbon machine you want a quality groupset and you really can't go wrong with 2x11 speed Shimano Ultegra Di2. Ultegra Di2 is incredibly smooth and offers an all-around awesome riding experience with precise and accurate shifting that doesn't miss a beat. It packs a 52-36 crankset and 11-30 cassette for a versatile ride that is extremely capable when it comes to challenging climbs.

You'll be putting that power through the DT Swiss P1800 Spline DB23  and Continental Grand Sport Race Tyres which give you a good combination of grippy control and fast rolling speed. Disc brakes now comes as standard on the Scultura and the 7000-E rolls with Ultegra Hydraulic Disc Brakes for all-weather control and certainly gives you some extra confidence on the road. The finishing kit is almost all Merida and it still has a very clean look and fast feel. The main difference between the 7000-E and the 6000 is that the 7000-E is Ultegra Di2 instead of regular Ultegra and the DT Swiss P1800 Spline DB wheelset replaces the Fulcrum Racing 700DB Wheels on the 6000. The Merida Scultura 7000-E is a brilliant road bike that is an absolute dream to ride, it performs well across all areas so that you can ride well on the flat, while climbing or descending.

Features

Aero Profiled Tubing: Our wind tunnel learnings from the REACTO design project have been used to create a smaller aerodynamically optimised ‘NACA Fastback’ tube profile. The more extreme truncation of the teardrop shaped tubes enables perfect airflow at the lowest possible weight.

Precise Steering: All SCULTURA models feature a full carbon fork with a tapered steerer to give precise confidence-inspiring steering. Alloy and CF2 carbon models feature a ‘regular’ 1 1/8" to 1 1/2" taper. The high-end CF4 frame has a slimmed down front profile and uses a 1 1/8" to 1 1/4" taper.

Bolt Through Axles: All SCULTURA DISC bikes feature 12 mm bolt through axles for greater wheel stiffness and precise disc alignment when replacing wheels. The axle lever is removable and has a 4 mm Allen key included, so for example stem, seat post clamp screws can be tightened and loosened.

Disc Cooling Technology: A forged aluminium part under the rear disc brake caliper draws heat away through CNC-milled cooling fins giving 35 % less heat build-up and faster temperature reduction for a stable braking performance.

Tyre Clearance: The SCULTURA DISC version can be fitted with 28 mm wide tyres, providing maximum traction and transferring the improved braking power to the road. The maximum tyre width for the rim version is 25 mm.

Merida

About Merida

In September 1972, Ike Tseng (1932–2012) a brilliant engineer and visionary founded MERIDA. While visiting the USA, Ike saw a sign in a bike shop that stated refusal to repair any Taiwanese bikes, due to the unfavourable quality. As a result of this he set out to fulfil his dream of high quality bikes made in Taiwan and formed the MERIDA Industry Company Ltd.

The MERIDA name has three syllables Me-Ri-Da and it is the company’s intention to manufacture beautiful, high quality bikes that enables everyone to reach their destination enjoyably. MERIDA created a world-leading bike factory but Ike still wasn’t satisfied, so in 1988 the MERIDA brand was launched. Ike’s vision is still very much a part of MERIDA, manufacturing all kinds of bikes from children’s bikes to world-class professional road and mountain bikes for the Bahrain- MERIDA team riders. Everybody has a different journey, and everyone can benefit from a MERIDA.
