Role: Team Leader
Experience: Moving in to the bike world has been an exciting time. Most of my career has been in corporate sales so it's refreshing to be at 99 where the culture is so lighthearted and you really get to know customers and their story
Expertise: Helping families get ready to ride!
What do you love about bikes?: Where they can take you - and how to appreciate the best of the great outdoors
Current Bikes: A simple mountain bike that's just great for road, tracks and life with kids. So versatile
Favourite Ride: The Oaks fire trail - a stunning ride. And also exploring the gazillions of family friendly bike tracks in Sydney - we're so lucky here.
Name: Michael Micallef
Role: Second In Charge
Experience: A club level Road and Mountain biker, I had great success in 24hr races in Victoria and South Australia over an 8 year period. I put cycling on hiatus to pursue a trade and later, management. I now work for 99 Bikes, and in the process, have combined my passion for cycling with my career
Expertise: My passion lies in Mountain Bikes, but I have knowledge in most fields. My trade background also lends me to material knowledge
What do you love about bikes?: The excitement driving to a trail head you've never been to, the wind in the hair feeling, the invincible feeling you get when your at the top of your fitness game. The technology race in mountain bikes is fun to watch and live

Favourite Ride: River run in Camden South is fantastic. I love taking my beginner mates out there and they love it. The Wonthaggi 24hr circuit in Southern Victoria is where some of my fondest memories lie. Racing flat out at 2am, slingshoting off the footy oval and onto the back straight at 60kmh never gets old

What do you love about bikes?: The wheels.

Favourite Ride: Along Kosciuszko Rd in the Snowy Mountains.

Experience: After working in a mechanical environment I wanted to challenge myself. Finding my passion at 99bikes in 2020, and being surrounded by others with a similar interest. My ability in leadership and management has grown alongside, eagerness to serve the biking community. It has been a fantastic journey connecting with customers and helping them find their perfect ride
Expertise: Anything offroad cross country, hard tail or dual suspension
What do you love about bikes?: Thrill of riding out on the trails, learning about new products and being able to share my passion with the biking community and those wanting to get out on the trails or the road

Favourite Ride: Pennant Hills DH trails and the technical flow runs, there is a nice speed run where you can pick up 60km all the way to the bottom

Experience: After working in a couple of different industries, 99 Bikes has allowed me to work in a field that I am passionate about. I grew up bunch riding road bikes in Alstonville and Coffs Harbour on the north coast of NSW

What do you love about bikes?: The development of aerodynamic frames and electronic group sets
Current Bikes: Lapierre Xelius SL 600 FDJ 2016 Ultegra - my road racing bike. Rocky Mountain Soul 10 Hard tail 27.5" - my off road adventure bike for the royal national park. Avanti Quantum 1.0 105 - first road bike currently living on the indoor trainer
Favourite Ride: I live close to the royal national park south of Sydney so that is my go to. Plenty of trails for MTB and hill climbs for the roadies. The Waterfall Hill Climb starting inside the park is my favourite strava segment for the road bike. It's 4.36km at 4% with a gruelling flat part midway

Experience: I have been working at bike shops doing sales and mechanics for many years. My highlight being working at Thredbo Bike Park as a coach/mechanic/salesperson

What do you love about bikes?: I love racing and messing around with mates. I like having a laugh in the car or on the chairlift on the way up the hill then sending it downhill!

Experience: Currently, I am studying a Bachelor of Interior Architecture and have always enjoyed a hands on environment, landing me in the workshop of 99 Bikes North Parra
Expertise: Mountain Bikes (XC, trail), Tools & Parts, Brake Pad Specialist, growing bad moustaches
What do you love about bikes?: I enjoy the simplicity of bikes and the way that different brands develop frames, geometry, materials, etc.
Current Bikes: Fuji Nevada 1.1 XT edition, more to come...
Favourite Ride: To Jimmy's Kebabs, solid 200 metres away from the shop but its hard to ride on a full stomach

Experience: I am an overseas student from Germany, where I was a full-time bike mechanic & consultant for 3 years. I began my career at 99 Bikes in July 2020
Expertise: Road & Gravel Bikes, eBikes and Single Speed
What do you love about bikes?: I love exploring new rides and reaching exciting places on my bike. Back in Germany, I went on a bunch of bike-packing tours & I'm already planing my next one here in Australia
