Our Employee Initiatives

Ride To Work

Ride To Work

We pay our employees a ride to work bonus. We encourage healthy active lifestyles and this helps reduce traffic congestion, with less cars on the road and less pollution for our planet. In FY25 over 600 of our team rode over 408,000kms to and from work

Bicycle Academy

Bicycle Academy

We are focused on continuing to build the capacity and capability of our bike mechanics and bike builders through our Bicycle Academy and Cytech training programs. Cytech is an internationally recognised training and accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians and is delivered through The Bicycle Academy. The Bicycle Academy’s vision is to train and develop the Australian bicycle industry’s mechanics and create employment opportunities. Not does the Bicycle Academy help to build brighter futures for our people, but it also has social and environmental benefits, with highly skilled mechanics leading to safer, longer-lasting bikes and less waste for our communities and environment

Professional And Personal Development

Professional And Personal Development

Every employee is offered up to $1,000 a year that can be put towards “Self-Development”. We also have 3 Training Academies to develop our people and provide career pathways.

Personal Well-Being

Personal Well-Being

As well as internal support, we offer our employees access to an external “well-being” portal that helps with all aspects of their life, including physical, mental, social and financial. This service also includes initial one on one coaching and counselling service.

Employee Owned

Employee Owned

Each individual at 99 Bikes has equal privileges and rights. There is no us and them. We operate an open and transparent business, with total information sharing and encourage honest communication between all roles. We want our people to treat the business like it’s their own and we do this by offering financial ownership through shares, Business Ownership Schemes (BOS), profit share, and commission. Through our Employee Share Scheme we currently have 1,028 employees, ex-employees, and contractor shareholders, equating to over 16% ownership

Reward & Recognition

Reward & Recognition

Our culture is built on celebrating high achievement through daily, monthly and yearly recognition and reward. Our high achievers win awards at our regular RIDE events (Reward, Recognition, Information, Drinks, Eats) and the top 10% of high achievers are awarded a ticket to attend our annual conference, the Global Gathering hosted in amazing places all over the world. The Global Gathering in 2025 was in Cairns, Australia. See more about Global here

Employee Engagement

in 2025, we introduced a new annual employee survey to provide a confidential mode of communication and feedback loop for our teams, helping us discover new ways to improve our workplace and culture. Over 70% of our eligible team members participated in the survey. Pedal Group's overall sustainable engagement score was 79% with very strong results in the areas of teamwork and collaboration, ownership and automony. Our next step is to engage with our teams to focus on our opportunities for improvement with the aim to improve our sustainable engagement score over time.
