The 2023 Silverback Slade MS Hard Tail Mountain Bike is the entry-level version of Silverback's Slade range, which is their trail-focused Hard Tail Mountain Bike Range. Just because it's their budget-friendly version that's aimed at newer riders, though, doesn't mean you're missing out on getting your hands on a dialled setup straight out of the box. The new 2023 Slade MS utilises Trail Optimised POP (Position of Power) Geometry, which means climbs are efficient and easy, but the Slade MS still crushes the descents, thanks to the low standover height and short chainstays, making sure it retains its title of hardcore trail-focussed hardtail. On top of the same internally routed, lightweight alloy frame found on the higher-end Slade models, the Silverback Slade MS comes equipped with 130mm SR Suntour Forks to soak up bumps and take on impacts when the trail gets rough. Tektro Hydraulic Disc Brakes provide reliable and powerful stopping power, and the Microshift 1x11 Speed drivetrain offers seamless shifting performance.
TRAIL OPTIMISED POP GEOMETRY
POP (Position of Power) geometry engages bigger muscle groups for more effective climbing, and rider position on the Slade improves traction, front wheel grip and bike control. This means that it also feels more natural, boosting confidence and skill development.
SHORT CHAINSTAYS
The Short chainstays on the Slade make for a very nimble handling bike. The forged and flipped yoke creates enough clearance for 29x2.6" tyres on the 430mm chainstays with ample crankarm clearance to boot.
130mm SR Suntour Forks
130mm of travel up front means that the Slade MS can roll over rough terrain and soak up hits to ensure you're always in full control and riding in relative comfort, as well as taking on tougher trails, knowing your bike can take whatever you throw at it!

What is this bike used for?
The Silverback Slade MS is a trail-focused hardcore hardtail, making it the perfect all-rounder for pretty much any kind of trail use. The weight and geometry, as well as fast-rolling 29" wheels and 11-speed drivetrain mean it'll take on climbs with ease, but the 130mm forks, hydraulic disc brakes and short chainstays mean it comes alive on the descents, so you'll finish each trail with a grin!
How is this bike different?
Although this version of the Slade is Silverback's entry-level trail hardtail, the Slade MS is equipped with much better components than most hardtail trail bikes that are aimed at beginner or budget-focused riders, including 130mm SR Suntour Forks, Hydraulic Disc Brakes, and fully integrated cable routing.
