The Cube Stereo 140 HPC TM is a 27.5 inch dual suspension mountain bike that will make you rethink what is possible on a bike. The Stereo 140 Race HPC is light, nimble and versatile, starting with the carbon frame. Cube designed a blended frame, with a carbon main frame and aluminium rear triangle that's so impressive, you won't believe it offers 140mm of rear wheel travel. The Boost 148 rear end is combined with a large down tube and tapered head tube, for efficient and amazingly precise steering. To make this an bike an agile all-mountain beast, it has short chainstays and a lower standover, while the geometry is designed to handle both the 150mm fork and extended periods of climbing with ease.
The FOX 36 Float Factory suspension fork with 150mm travel can handle the toughest trails and Cube selected the fork and DPX2 shock for front and rear air springs that are easy to set up, easy to adjust. The Stereo 140 HPC is driven by the peerless SRAM GX Eagle 1x12 for the smoothest and sharpest riding experience. The SRAM drivetrain powers the strong Newmen Evolution SL wheels that are anchor the reliable SRAM Code R hydraulic disc brakes which will give you unrivalled stopping power in all conditions. It is also fitted with a dropper post, so you can ride even the steepest of chutes with confidence. While a host of clever design features and innovations are included on the Stereo 140 HPC, with hidden frame pivots, internal cable routing, a shorter rocker and trunnion mount shock. All of these features help create a clean and sharp appearance that will wow all of your mates.
Everything on the Stereo 140 HPC is high quality and this really is an astoundingly good mountain bike. This is for the serious rider doesn’t want their bike to sacrifice anything. We could go on and on about every single aspect of this bike that is innovative and amazing. But all you need to know is that this a German engineered masterpiece that will do absolutely anything you ask of it and look good in the process.
Features
Adaptable X12 Hanger: Our new dropout design based on the Syntace X12 through-axle system, enlarging the area of the frame where the hanger is mounted. We can now fit the longer Direct Mount hangers. Shifting precision and stiffness is therefore improved. With the new design it's also possible to swap the whole contact area of the axle with the hanger should the system be worn out.
Boost 148: Boost 148mm technology provides precise handling, on every trail, in every situation. The hub flange moves 3mm towards the outside on both sides. It increases the stiffness of a 27.5? wheel by 14% and, for a 29er wheel, by 21%. The reason is the spoke’s wider support in comparison to the 142mm hubs used previously.
Agile Ride Geometry: We increased fork offsets to achieve the same trail as our 26in bikes without having to steepen the head angle. Secondly we shortened the chain stays without compromising the seat angle and invented a patented construction to mount the front derailleur to increase tyre clearance while keeping a conventional seat angle, for a perfect riding position. We kept the BB height the same as on our 26in bikes. These measures lead to a natural riding position.
Efficient Trail Control: Our Efficient Trail Control series works so that everyone can have more fun on the trail. With 27.5 and 29er wheel options our frames cover the widest range of riding on every terrain you can imagine. The low leverage ratio and linear rate curve makes the bike very sensitive, avoids bobbing and offers full usable travel all the time. Steep seat tube angles and slack head tube angles make these dream machines ready for action on the descent where you can use the full amount of travel to be on the safe side.
FSP4Link: The key requirement is for continuously active and fully usable travel, with the rear triangle unaffected by pedalling or especially braking forces. CUBE favours a four bar design with a chainstay pivot. Here, one of the pivots is located between the dropout and the chainstay, ensuring that braking does not have a negative effect on the movement of the rear wheel. By carefully positioning the remaining pivots, we obtain the finest riding qualities for our full suspension bikes both uphill and downhill.
Trail Motion Rocker: The Trail Motion Rocker features optimised leverage ratios for every bike and intended use, giving fast reacting yet stable suspension in every situation. The computer-designed one piece rocker construction gives maximum stiffness for the best suspension performance while still being lightweight.
FOX Customized Setup: Sophisticated suspension kinematics can only work correctly if the associated shock is properly tuned and found a specific shock setup for almost every CUBE full-suspension model.
