The Merida Ninety-Six RC 5000 Mountain Bike is a race-oriented XC dual suspension bike designed with absolute speed and performance in mind. The frame features a fast and aggressive geometry targeted at those wanting to save every second possible. With modern XC racecourses becoming more demanding, Merida has designed this bike with the speed and agility of an XC bike, but with the trail-ability of a trail bike, making it much more downhill-capable. Combining multiple amazing features such as a 100mm RockShox Reba RL fork to take whatever you throw at it, Maxxis Rekon Race tyres for the perfect speed/grip combo, and a powerful Shimano SLX hydraulic disc brake set so you can ride with confidence knowing you can stop no matter how fast you're flying. The Ninety-Six RC 5000 has a progression leverage ratio that is higher at the beginning to increase sensitivity to small impacts while the progression gives awesome support in the mid-travel. The slacker head angle, longer reach, and a lower bottom bracket and standover height on the Ninety-Six RC 5000 provide increased stability and maximum room to move for added control when descending, making this XC bike a force to be reckoned with on the downhill trails, giving you those precious extra seconds.
The Ninety-Six RC 5000 features a frame made from lightweight CF4 carbon using Merida's Nano Matrix Carbon to improve strength and is combined with a leaf-spring-like frame design. Through this, Merida has eliminated the need for a seat/chainstay pivot point to reduce weight and increase stiffness, making the handling of this bike a dream. The included Merida Expert TR dropper post allows you to get your seat out of the way with a push of a lever so you have maximum room to move while descending. Adding to the amazing features, the Merida Ninety-Six RC 5000 offers Shimano Deore 32t chainwheel at the front, and a Shimano Deore 10-51t cassette at the rear to give you good climbing and descending with crisp, shifting you can always depend on.
Nano Matrix Carbon
To give you the strongest and best Carbon frames, Merida utilises Nano Matrix technology. The Carbon fibers are bonded together using an epoxy resin with added nano particles which increases the impact resistance by up to 40%!

P-Flex Technology
Merida's proprietary P-Flex technology, uses the inherent compliance of the carbon and a leaf-spring-like frame design, to allow the frame to flex near the seat and chainstay junction enough to make the pivot point obsolete, all without impacting durability. This gives you a lighter bike and increased stiffness for a better ride.
