The Merida One-Twenty 9.400 is the all-rounder in the dual suspension, 29 inch range. This is an excellent bike for those wanting to move up from a hardtail or start out in the mountain biking world. The Merida One-Twenty 400’s frame is made from Merida’s Superlite 16 Aluminium (6016), which means that the walls can be super thin and deliver amazing strength, ideal for demanding off-road riding and racing. A tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom is used to create superb stiffness and precise, reliable steering. The cables are routed internally so that they are protected from the elements, and the frame is given a second pass over weld to give it a sharp, carbon-like appearance.
An 11-speed drivetrain from Shimano will make it easier to climb and descend quickly. The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes will give you reliability and control in any conditions, which is exactly what you want from your mountain bike brakes. The One-Twenty 9.400 has a Suntour XCR34 fork with Suntour Unair rear shock. The Float Link delivers sensitive response characteristics and the rear suspension system appears to offer more travel than the model name suggests.
The Merida One-Twenty 9.400 is a great entry-level dual suspension bike suited for riders of all abilities who are looking for a reliable and quality ride.
Features
Float Link Rear Suspension 2019: The lower shock mount moves with the system to deliver sensitive response characteristics. Our engineers can precisely influence the transmission ratio and progression meaning a ‘Float Link’ rear suspension system appears to offer more travel than the model name suggests.
Superlite 16 Alloy 2019: Our latest grade of aluminium (6016) enables super thin wall thicknesses whilst delivering amazing strength, ideal for demanding off-road riding and racing.
X-Taper Headtube 2019: Using a tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom creates superb stiffness and precise, confidence inspiring steering.
Internal Cable 2019: Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.
Smooth Welding 2019: Sometimes called ‘double pass welding’, a second pass over the weld gives a clean organic look to the frame. At first glance you will be convinced it is carbon.
Smart Entry 2019: Cables, housings and brake hoses are clamped under tension to prevent rattling when the trail gets rough. All inlets are completely interchangeable to deal with Di2, hydraulic hoses, brake cable and gear cable housings etc.
12-142 Thru-Axle 2019: Selected front forks use a 100 mm wide through axle 12 or 15 mm in diameter to increase lateral stiffness. A 142 mm wide 12 mm rear axle fixed directly into the frame increases rear end stiffness whilst simplifying wheel removal and replacement.
C-S Post Mount Disc 2019: Post mount disc brake calipers fit directly onto the seat stay for a strong and light connection whilst a chainstay post mount positions the caliper on the chainstay within the rear triangle for extra protection and better distribution of braking forces. Another benefit is that internal cable routing is also easier and neater via the chainstay.
15-100 Thru-Axle 2019: Selected front forks use a 100 mm wide through axle 12 or 15 mm in diameter to increase lateral stiffness. A 142 mm wide 12 mm rear axle fixed directly into the frame increases rear end stiffness whilst simplifying wheel removal and replacement.
