The Merida Reacto Disc 8000-E is a high-performance aero road bike that is built to go fast and help you get the most out of yourself on race day. This bike is best suited to road riders or triathletes looking to take their riding or racing to the next level. Merida have clearly put a lot of time and resources into developing a quality frame and all-round high-performance bike that is also equipped with Shimano Ultegra hydraulic disc brakes and Ultegra Di2 electronic shifting

The aero design minimises the effect of air resistance on the bike, maximising speed without sacrificing comfort, weight or stiffness. The proven Reacto CF4 frame has fibres bonded together with an epoxy resin and added nano particles to increase impact resistance by up to 40%. While an inflatable bladder is used in construction to ensure there are no wrinkles inside the tube as these can add weight and create weakness. This results in a lighter, stiffer and stronger frame. A tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom also creates excellent stiffness and precision steering. The cables are hidden internally to give it that neat and tidy look and protect the cables. It is equipped with carbon forks, which provide superb vibration damping and enhance control, the steerer and fork blades are all made of carbon.

The Reacto Disc 8000-E is equipped with a full Shimano Ultegra groupset for precise shifting and a smooth feel, helping to maintain a smoother pedal stroke through gear changes. The electronic shifting provided by the Ultegra Di2 components give you precise shifting every time and really is a game changer. The Reacto Disc 8000-E comes equipped with the new Di2 wireless unit which allows your shifters to communicate with your smart phone to transmit information on gears, Di2 battery level and adjustment mode information. The Shimano Ultegra hydraulic disc brakes will give you ultimate control and response in any conditions. The Reacto has the versatility of a road bike but is on a completely different level when it comes to riding fast and holding that pace. The design of this bike makes it an attractive option for triathletes, as it takes some inspiration from time trial bikes, while maintaining the versatility to be ridden anywhere. This bike a great option for race day and the combination of a quality Reacto CF4 frame and Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset, you get reliability and performance in the same package.

The Merida Reacto Disc 8000-E is an aero road bike that strikes a perfect blend of performance and price, ideal for the road cyclist or triathlete looking to take their riding to the next level. Designing an aero road bike is all about the minor details and Merida has done a great job with the little things on this bike, with nothing spared in the quest to create an efficient aero machine. This Reacto 8000-E has all the features you could hope for, with hydraulic disc brakes, electronic shifting and the incredible CF4 aero frame. With this bike Merida has shown again that an aero bike can be comfortable, without being super heavy and clunky.

Features

Nano Matrix Carbon 2019: To protect the integrity of carbon frames, the fibres are bonded together with an epoxy resin with added nano particles, increasing impact resistance by up to 40%.

Carbon Fork 2019: Carbon forks provide superb vibration damping and precise steering. All road bikes feature a full carbon fork; the steerer and fork blades are all made of carbon.

HFS - Hydro Forming System 2019: Tubes are inserted into negative moulds and a hot emulsion of water and oil is forced through at pressure, enabling them to be formed into complex shapes.

X-Taper Headtube 2019: Using a tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom creates superb stiffness and precise, confidence inspiring steering.

Disc Cooler 2019: A forged aluminium component under the front and rear caliper allowing heat to dissipate through CNC-milled cooling fins. Tests show that temperatures are reduced by around 35% and cooling times are shortened, optimising the performance of the brake.

12-142 Thru-Axle 2019: Selected front forks use a 100 mm wide through axle 12 or 15 mm in diameter to increase lateral stiffness. A 142 mm wide 12 mm rear axle fixed directly into the frame increases rear end stiffness whilst simplifying wheel removal and replacement.

12-100 Thru-Axle 2019: Selected front forks use a 100 mm wide through axle 12 or 15 mm in diameter to increase lateral stiffness. A 142 mm wide 12 mm rear axle fixed directly into the frame increases rear end stiffness whilst simplifying wheel removal and replacement.

Internal Cable 2019: Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.

Internal Clamp 2019: Designing WorldTour bikes is similar to Formula 1: apparently nondescript details can result in saving split seconds. Integrated seat-post clamping minimises turbulence at the top tube.

Di2 Ready 2019: Bikes/frames with the symbol ‘Di2 Ready’ are prepared for the installation of Di2 technology with battery mounting in the seat post or within the fork steerer.

S-Flex 2019: Patent pending design. Carbon is good at absorbing vibration but to increase comfort we shape the seat posts using our exclusive S-Flex design.
