The Merida Scultura 8000-E is a high-end carbon frame road bike designed for the rider that is looking to race at their absolute best. The Scultura 8000-E features the incredible CF4 frameset and electronic shifting provided by the Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset. The frame is lighter and stiffer than the CF2 equivalent, however the ride feels more responsive and aggressive. While the geometry changes with this model as well, with a lower front end and longer tube, it puts the rider in a more efficient and aerodynamic position. This bike is built to go fast and handle well, but with a much more comfortable position and feel than one might expect. The proven Scultura CF4 frame has fibres bonded together with an epoxy resin and added nano particles to increase impact resistance by up to 40%. While an inflatable bladder is used in construction to ensure there are no wrinkles inside the tube as these can add weight and create weakness. This results in a lighter, stiffer and stronger frame.

A tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom also creates excellent stiffness and precision steering. The cables are hidden internally to give it that neat and tidy look and protect the cables. It is equipped with carbon forks, which provide superb vibration damping and enhance control, the steerer and fork blades are all made of carbon.

The Scultura 8000-E uses a Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset, which offers a higher level of quality and performance compared to many comparable road bikes. The electronic Di2 groupset gives you precise shifting every time and really is a game changer.  While Flex Stay technology dampens vibrations through the rear of the bike, improving overall comfort. It is important that you are comfortable while you ride and the Scultura 8000-E makes sure that you are looked after.

Nano Matrix Carbon 2019: To protect the integrity of carbon frames, the fibres are bonded together with an epoxy resin with added nano particles, increasing impact resistance by up to 40%.

NACA Fastback Profile 2019: The aerodynamics are based around a NACA0028 teardrop profile (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) which is truncated. Air moves around the tube as though the missing rear section of the teardrop were still there, saving weight by using less material.

Carbon Fork 2019: Carbon forks provide superb vibration damping and precise steering. All road bikes feature a full carbon fork; the steerer and fork blades are all made of carbon.

X-Taper Headtube 2019: Using a tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom creates superb stiffness and precise, confidence inspiring steering.

Internal Cable 2019: Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.

Di2 Ready 2019: Bikes/frames with the symbol ‘Di2 Ready’ are prepared for the installation of Di2 technology with battery mounting in the seat post or within the fork steerer.
