The Merida Scultura packs a punch, combining the aerodynamic prowess of the Reacto with the lighter weight and shorter wheelbase of seasoned climbing bikes. The result is a nimble and lightning-quick road bike ready to climb, descend or just roll through flat sections.
The Scultura Rim 100 model features the ever-reliable 2 x 8-speed Shimano Claris groupset, which offers precise shifting with brilliant control for smooth, silent and crisp performance on the road. The standard 50-34T crankset and optimised 11-28T 8-speed cassette will ensure you have the range to climb mountains with ease, and equally, you'll be able to spin along the flat without tiring. In order to keep weight to a minimum, and to provide a retro road riding feel, Merida have taken the decision to use rim brakes rather than disc brakes. if you talk to any climbing specialists or retro enthusiasts, they'll tell you that nothing provides the same level of feedback as rim brakes - and they're not wrong! You'll find the Scultura Rim 100 really responds to every input to put you in cycling nirvana. To minimise rolling resistance, the speedy 700 x 25c Maxxis Dolomites tyres have been specced to give you raw speed and the ability to unleash your potential in the saddle.

This bike features a double front chainring meaning you'll have full access to higher and lower gearing perfectly suited for dynamic rides across varying grades of terrain. With 2 chainrings at the front, you'll be prepared to take on any ride, short, steep, long or flat!
Double & Triple Butting
Butting is varying the thickness of the tubing throughout frame construction you get the benefit of strength where you need it and a lightweight design everywhere else. As part of the process, frames are heated and cooled significantly increasing the strength of the tubing.
