Review
"The eOne-Sixty is the 160/155mm travel option, which features a mullet wheelsize setup with a 29×2.5" tyre up front and a 27.5×2.6" tyre out back... Yet travel and geometry remain the same as the 2020 version. The top-level eOne-Sixty 10K model features ALL the bells and whistles!"
The Merida eOne Sixty 10K is as good as it gets when it comes to dual suspension electric mountain bikes, if you like to live large then look no further than this bike. The eOne Sixty 10K is equipped with a performance focused carbon-alloy frame with a carbon front end to minimise weight and an alloy rear end to maximise strength. The in-tube Shimano E8036 630Wh Battery (E8035 - 504Wh Battery for XS Size) integrated into the frame for a clean look and balanced feel. The 630Wh offers a 25% increase in capacity over the older 504Wh model, matched with the brand new Shimano EP8 Motor which replaces the older E8000 motor. This motor brings software that allows you to adjust the support levels of each assistance mode from your phone to suit your personal needs and preferences. It also packs a bigger punch with 85 Nm and is also lighter by 300 grams for a swift ride. It has an 'internal block' built right into the frame, which prevents the fork crown from hitting the frame when you crash, as well as the addition of extra rubber bumpers on the frame to avoid any frame damage from the fork crown
You know that the e-bike components on this bike are awesome, but so is the rest of the spec on this bike. The FOX 38 Elite eMTB+ Air Fork brings 160mm travel to tame the trails and help give this bike some punchy personality. The Shimano XTR shifters and rear derailleur offer smooth shifting, while the Shimano XTR 4 Piston Hydraulic Disc Brakes give you all of the stopping power to control this beast and ride with confidence - these brakes really are a standout on this bike. Add to that the hand picked Maxxis Assegai 29x2.5” Front Tyre/ 27.5x2.5” Maxxis Agressor Rear Tyre combination to ensure that this heavier full suspension e-bike offers precision, playfulness, and traction on the trails. The DT Swiss HXC1250 Spline rims are built for fast paced MTB adventures with their light yet tough design. It's all finished off with the incredibly good RockShox Reverb AX Dropper Post so that you can get out of your seat and really let it rip- the only bike in the eOne Sixty range with this dropper post.
The 10K shares a lot of similarities with the 9000, overall both bikes have similar spec and design, however the 10K is the top of the range for a good reason. The XTR Groupset is the gold standard in mountain bike and is near faultless. You also get a better FOX suspension setup, high end dropper post and even better wheels from DT Swiss. When all is considered, it's hard to fault the eOne Sixty 10k and for this price you probably would want something nearing on perfection, and this beast comes close as it is clearly one of the best dual suspension electric mountain bikes on the market.
Shimano EP8
Comes equipped with the new EP8 motor from Shimano STePS. It offers an increased performance of 85 Nm, less weight, a further reduction in size and less friction. On top of that, the new internal battery offers an extended range and super-fast charging capabilities.
Clever Wheels
To give the e-full suspension bikes precise steering, fantastic ‘rolling over obstacles’ behaviour yet maximum traction, we have combined a 29er front wheel with a 2.5" tyre and a 650B rear wheel, equipped with a slightly wider 2.6" tyre. The perfect combination of precision, playfulness and traction. process.
Thermo Gate
Specifically located openings on the carbon models near the head tube which work like a chimney and allow the warm air to dissipate to guarantee the optimum operating temperature of the internal battery. The 'Thermo Gate' enables the battery to perform at its best, in any condition.
