The Merida Scultura 8000 Road Bike is a high-end road bike with a forgiving carbon frame and electronic shifting for a crisp ride all day long. The dynamic 8000-E starts out with Merida's high end CF4 Carbon Frame which gives you smooth, vibration damping ride that can act as the training or race day bike depending on your needs. The CF4 frame is built with aggressive ProTour proven geometry and 'NACA Fastback' profiled tubes for performance, while the narrow profiled seat stays reduce vibration and deliver comfort. If you're rolling on a flat out carbon machine you want a quality groupset and you really can't go wrong with 2x11 speed Shimano Ultegra Di2. Ultegra Di2 is incredibly smooth and offers an all-around awesome riding experience with precise and accurate shifting that doesn't miss a beat. It packs a 52-36 crankset and 11-30 cassette for a versatile ride that is extremely capable when it comes to challenging climbs.
You'll be putting that power through the Reynolds AR 41 DB Wheelset and Continental Grand Sport Race Tyres which give you a good combination of grippy control and fast rolling speed. Disc brakes now comes as standard on the Scultura and the 8000-E rolls with Ultegra Hydraulic Disc Brakes for all-weather control and certainly gives you some extra confidence on the road. The finishing kit is almost all Merida and it still has a very clean look and fast feel. The main difference between the 7000-E and the 8000-E is the that the 8000-e gets the top of the line CF4 frame instead of CF2, as well as an upgrade on the wheelset. The Merida Scultura 8000-E is pure performance with a good splash of comfort for a bike that will excel on long ride yet still feel snappy when you want to get out of the saddle.
Features
Aero Profiled Tubing: Our wind tunnel learnings from the REACTO design project have been used to create a smaller aerodynamically optimised ‘NACA Fastback’ tube profile. The more extreme truncation of the teardrop shaped tubes enables perfect airflow at the lowest possible weight.
Precise Steering: All SCULTURA models feature a full carbon fork with a tapered steerer to give precise confidence-inspiring steering. Alloy and CF2 carbon models feature a ‘regular’ 1 1/8" to 1 1/2" taper. The high-end CF4 frame has a slimmed down front profile and uses a 1 1/8" to 1 1/4" taper.
Bolt Through Axles: All SCULTURA DISC bikes feature 12 mm bolt through axles for greater wheel stiffness and precise disc alignment when replacing wheels. The axle lever is removable and has a 4 mm Allen key included, so for example stem, seat post clamp screws can be tightened and loosened.
Disc Cooling Technology: A forged aluminium part under the rear disc brake caliper draws heat away through CNC-milled cooling fins giving 35 % less heat build-up and faster temperature reduction for a stable braking performance.
Tyre Clearance: The SCULTURA DISC version can be fitted with 28 mm wide tyres, providing maximum traction and transferring the improved braking power to the road. The maximum tyre width for the rim version is 25 mm.
