The Colony Horizon 20" BMX Bike is a special stepping stone BMX bike in that it has a lightweight alloy frame and a shorter 18.9″ top tube length. This means it feels & rides like an 18″ bike can but has the larger 20″ wheels. This bike is designed for riders up to around 12 years old. It’s the perfect bike to enter the 20″ world. progression & having fun with BMX will come naturally, for all styles of riding, including those aspiring to be a future BMX Freestyle Olympic athlete. 3-PIECE CHROMOLY CRANK
The standard for high-end BMX bikes, 3-piece cranks are stiffer and stronger, meaning you can smash it at the skate park with confidence. Made with Chromoly, these cranks are lightweight while still retaining their strength.
6061 T6 ALLOY FRAME
Made with extremely strong and light 6061 T6 Aluminium Alloy, the benchmark material for quality alloy bicycle frames, this is the perfect frame for those looking for something strong enough to take a beating without breaking the bank.
CROMO FORK AND BARS
Alongside your frame and cranks, the other areas of your bike that are put under the most stress is the fork and handlebars. Colony have opted to use CROMO (Also known as CrMo or Chromoly Steel) to ensure that these are light enough to be thrown around while learning tricks and flowing around the skatepark, but strong enough to stand up to landing impacts and inevitably hitting the deck.

What is this bike used for?

The difference lies in the decision to build a bike with 20" wheels, the typical size for all freestyle BMX bikes, but with a shorter top tube and geometry to match, so that it handles more like an 18" for smaller, younger riders.
Who is this bike designed for?
Colony advise that this bike is for riders up to 12 years old, or thereabouts (check the size chart for more info). This is the perfect starting point for riders that have outgrown their youth BMX but want to steer clear of unwieldy full-size BMX bikes until they are ready. This will ensure better progression, safety, and in the end, more fun on 2 wheels while they're still growing!
