The Shimano Ultegra R8000 Carbon pedals are the highly anticipated and much-improved version of Shimano's veteran Ultegra 6800 pedal.
When Shimano designed these new pedals, they wanted to provide a super light, comfortable pedal that improved upon their class-leading power transfer. In order to exceed expectations, they've carried out the following improvements:
- Decreased Stack Height: Pedal stack height reduced by 0.7mm" which has resulted in a significant increase in pedalling efficiency. It may seem like a small difference, but it makes a huge difference!
- Widened Body: Shimano have widened the body of the Ultegra R8000 Carbon pedals resulting in increased stability and comfort for those longer rides.
They've managed to incorporate these improvements while keeping the Ultegra R8000 Carbon Pedals as light as possible - 248g! As always, riders have the ability to choose from a wide range of SPD-SL cleats to suit their riding style.
