The Giro Cylinder II features a BOA L6 dial, to offer minute adjustability (down to 1mm), meaning you'll always be able to find the perfect snug fit. Not only does this result in your foot being more comfortable, but it also means that your pedalling efficiency is greatly improved thanks to your foot being better supported. When combined with the synthetic upper, the overall feeling is one of being cocooned: protected from harm while ensuring any power you put down doesn't result in sore feet. While the mesh construction of the upper really serves to keep your feet cool, no matter the speed.
With a lightweight mesh design, you'd be forgiven for thinking the Cylinder II wouldn't be able to last longer days spent in the saddle, especially on colder, muddier days. However, you couldn't be further from the truth. Durability hasn't been sacrificed thanks to the co-moulded nylon and rubber-lugged outsole, while the traction you're offered is simply incredible on all terrains. In contrast, the neat design of the pedal box means you can comfortably hike in the Cylinder II shoes without much thought. What's more, you'll have the option to install metal spikes for muddy days when you're struggling to climb up hills!
